Reminders

What you must remember and is not a project task: call the client on Thursday, renew the domain.

What you can do

Jot down a reminder

So something that has to get done stops living only in your head.

Tick off what you already did

So the list shows what is left and not six months of finished things.

Change when it goes off

So it sounds when you can actually get to it.

Create a list

To keep the doctor’s errands apart from the move without mixing everything.

How it works

Jot down a reminder, in three steps.

  1. 1

Press “+” on the bar and type what it is about: one line, not a form.

  2. 2

It is born due an hour from now, on the hour, and with no list.

  3. 3

Press it to set the real time, the list and the rest.

How to use it

The Reminders steps, one by one, are in the manual.

Read the Reminders manual

What is included

  • Reminders with text, alert time and owner
  • Mark done and reopen, with the pending ones first
  • Hang a reminder off a task or a client

What it solves

There are things you have to remember to do that are not a project task: call the client on Thursday, renew the domain, review the budget. Reminders is your personal list inside the organization so that stops living only in your head.

Who it is for

For each person on the team, for their own things. They are private: only their owner sees them, not even an admin.

What you can do

Log one with the “+” in the bar by typing what it is about: it is one line, not a form. It starts with a notice an hour from now, on the hour, and with no list; by clicking on it you set the real time, the list, the location and the notes. At its time the notice reaches you, and if you snooze it, it sounds again at the new time.

Tick off what you have already done with the checkbox on the left, so the list shows what is left, or archive it if you are not going to do it but it is in the way. Create lists with their name, color and icon to keep the doctor’s things apart from the move’s, and see in the left column what each one still has pending.

Find one among all of them with the search box, which looks at the text, the notes and the location, and with “Filters” choose between pending, done or all. Archived lists are recovered from “Archived lists”.

What to keep in mind

Ticking off and archiving are undone by pressing the checkbox again; deleting a reminder does destroy it. Archiving a list does not lose its reminders: they stay grouped at the end and go back to their place when you unarchive it. Reminders appear on the calendar, on the day they go off, and can be attached to a task or a client.

Frequently asked questions

Does anyone else see the reminders?
No. They are private: only their owner sees them, not even an admin.
What time does a new reminder go off?
It starts with a notice an hour from now, on the hour, and with no list. By clicking it you change the date and time, the list, the location and the notes; if you snooze it, it sounds again at the new time.
What is the difference between ticking off and archiving?
Ticking off says you did it and takes it out of the pending ones. Archiving takes it out of the way without saying it was done. Both are undone by pressing the checkbox again.
Are the reminders in a list I archive lost?
No. They stay grouped at the end and go back to their place when the list is unarchived, which returns to the column just as it was.
