Browser
The Browser opens the web inside your desktop, with tabs, and shows you what your organization’s policy lets you open.
Open a page or search for something
To look something up on the web without leaving the desktop.
How to do it
- Open the Browser and type an address or what you want to search for in the bar.
- Press Enter: an address opens as it is and any other text is searched on Google.
- The padlock in the bar tells you whether the page is encrypted (https).
Work with tabs
To keep several pages at hand and get back the one you closed by mistake.
How to do it
- Press + to open a tab and a tab’s × to close it.
- Drag a tab to move it.
- Press «Reopen tab» to bring back the last one you closed; back, forward and reload sit next to the bar.
Open a blank page outside
To reach the sites that refuse to open inside another page, which are most of them.
How to do it
- If the page shows up blank, press «Remember it’s blank» under the bar.
- The Browser remembers it and next time shows its preview instead of an empty frame.
- Press «Open in a real tab» to open it in your own browser.
Decide what can be opened
To block sites, allow only a list or declare your organization’s intranets. Owners and admins only.
How to do it
- For the public web, open the Browser’s gear: there you choose the mode and add blocked and allowed sites.
- For intranets, open Settings → Your organizations → Intranets.
- Rules by role, team, project or person, and letting Kern read an intranet, come with Team.
